There are a variety of different ski schools in La Tania, which are conveniently located near the area’s most popular catered ski chalets.
Ecole du Ski Francais (ESF)
This is perhaps the best-known venue for skiing school trips in the area and it has full representation in La Tania, meaning it offers group children’s lessons, group adult lessons and private lessons.
For children, lessons are approximately 2.5 hours per session. Children are typically split up by age range. For children under six years old, basic instructions are given with a variety of games and a “magic carpet” ride that brings kids up the slope. For older children (six years plus) more in depth instructions are provided, including lessons on how to control speed, directing oneself on the slopes, how to turn and how to stop. There are also a variety of games that are played in order to keep the children from getting bored.
Adult lessons are split up between beginners and intermediates. Basic lessons include learning how to control speed, how to make snowplough turns, basic straight runs, draglifts and how to be autonomous on the slopes.
Magic in Motion
This is another ski school in La Tania. You will find that most ski schools are near catered ski chalets, so whichever one you chose it will likely be close to your accommodation.
This company specializes in both child and adult lessons as well. What differentiates the lessons given at Magic in Motion is the size of the groups. They pride themselves on small groups to ensure that everyone receives personalised attention and masters the sport of skiing as quickly as possible.
For children ages four to six years old they have what is called the “Little Ones” programme. All groups have no more than a maximum of six children in them to ensure that each child gets a lot of personal attention. They also have a “Fun Factory” for children aged six and older. Typically children between the ages of six and nine are grouped together and ten to fourteen are grouped together. A maximum of eight children are allowed in each group to once again allow for personal attention.
Adult lessons have a maximum of seven people. The lessons are filmed so that instructors can provide participants with video feedback once the lesson is complete.
No matter which company you decide to use for ski lessons you will be in great hands in La Tania. With lessons being so close to catered ski chalets, and offered for both children and adults, there is no better place to learn how to ski!
